A pair of chickadees
perch for a second on a twisted barbed wire fence
as they travel home for the evening.
The chickadees were carved from
a driftwood log found in the Tallapoosa River. Life-like feathers
have been burned in on the wings and tail, then painted rustic grey, black,
and white.
The perch for the birds was created by twisting a piece of barbed wire around
another
piece of re-claimed driftwood. The driftwood and barbed wire were then mounted
on a
round, hand-turned base, giving this piece a clean, finished look.
